Skytrain BTS system

The Mass Transit Authority Service handles bus transport within the city of Bangkok. The city also boasts a Skytrain or BTS system, which is a two-line system that runs above the road system. The MRT subway connects the Bang Sue station to the Hua Lamphong station that runs from the North of the city to the centre. The MRT system connects to the BTS metro at several stations including Sala Daeng and Mo Chit.

The network of public buses plied by the MTA is the largest in the country and connects to almost all the parts of Greater Bangkok. The Skytrain MTA in Thailandbuses are the cheapest mode of transport in the city and also provide you with some spectacular scenes of the city. There are over 3000 ac and non ac buses that operate on around 1000 routes within the city. One is advised to carry a BMTA map while traveling via the bus service as the routes covered by it is really extensive. The MTA has revamped the entire public transport scene in the city.
